Justin Garrod is a Managing Director at Hyde Park Capital and is based in West Palm Beach.

Industry Focus

Justin leads Hyde Park Capital’s Sponsor Capital Solutions service offering that provides secondary advisory and direct capital raising solutions for private equity sponsors and institutional limited partners.

Background & Experience

Justin brings over 20 years of experience in private equity secondaries and institutional capital raising. He served as a Partner at Mercury Capital Advisors and as a senior member of a private credit secondary fund.

Previously, Justin co-founded Stonington Capital Advisors, a boutique private equity capital advisory firm providing capital raising services to lower middle-market sponsors, where he served as Co-Managing Partner.

Earlier in his career, Justin served as a Vice President in the Lehman Brothers Private Funds Group. He also assisted the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy estate with the sale of balance sheet private equity interests in the secondary market.

Justin began his career as an M&A attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

Education

Justin holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review. He also holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.

Community Service

Justin is involved with the Friendship Circle in Livingston, New Jersey, an organization dedicated to creating friendship, inclusion, and recreational opportunities for children and teens with special needs while supporting their families.

Interests & Hobbies

Justin enjoys playing golf and following college basketball and football, particularly Indiana University and the University of Florida, his sons’ respective schools. He also follows the New York Yankees, Giants, and Knicks.
