From Campus to Capital
Leading the Way for Tomorrow’s Gulls

When Jared Mozeleski packed up and moved to Tampa just weeks after graduating from Salisbury University, he knew he was taking a leap of faith. Investment banking is one of the most competitive careers in finance – especially for graduates of non target schools – but he was determined to prove himself.

Now, as an investment banking business development associate at Hyde Park Capital, Jared is thriving in the challenge. He spends his days building relationships with founders, private equity firms, and deal advisors, helping source opportunities that turn into mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises.

“The learning curve has been steep in the best way,” he said. “Every week I’m sharpening my market understanding, outreach strategy, and judgment.”

This isn’t the first time Jared has redefined himself. At SU, he began as a member of the nationally ranked men’s lacrosse team. Stepping away from the sport he’d dedicated his life to was one of the hardest decisions he ever made – but also one of his most transformative.

“I poured that focus into the classroom,” he said. “Joining the Financial Management Association completely changed the course of my college years – and my career.”

“I want to be known as a connector who brings energy and integrity to every interaction, and who opens doors for the next generation coming out of SU.”

As vice president of FMA, he brought in weekly guest speakers and led the club’s annual trip to New York City, where visiting top-tier financial institutions and connecting with SU alumni lit a fire in him. He also grew his skills in the Sea Gull Fund, first as an analyst and later as a lead analyst, gaining hands-on experience in evaluating investments.

Jared MozeleskiToday, Jared’s focus is on mastering his role in Tampa while staying connected to SU, mentoring students who want to follow in his footsteps and realize their own potential.

“I want to be known as a connector who brings energy and integrity to every interaction, and who opens doors for the next generation coming out of SU,” Jared said. “I want students to see that anyone can achieve their desires. All it takes is hard work, perseverance, and passion.”

For Jared, every leap – from the field, to finance, to a new city – has been proof that stepping into the unknown can open doors to tomorrow.
